Dog Show News
Posted on October 31st, 2019
In August we drove from Nova Scotia to Ontario to go to the Irish Setter National and some other shows in Long Sault, Ontario. It was the first big show we have ever entered - and I mean BIG!!!! It was the first time we have travelled with the dogs more than 3 hours from home (we took 3 days to go there and 4 days to come home to try to make it as leisurely as possible) and it was the first time the dogs would enter the ring with a handler (and we had to hide because they tried everything to find us!) The dogs were entered into 2 All Breed Shows and 3 Specialties. Here are the results:
Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Dog Association - August 23, 24, 25 26, 2019
ALL BREED SHOWS:
Friday August 23 - Gwynnie 1st in class; Whimsy 3rd in class. Judge Pauline Hewitt
Saturday August 24 - Gwynnie 1st in class; Whimsy 3rd in class.
SPECIALTIES:
Irish Setter Club of Canada - Gwynnie 1st in Class; Whimsy 3rd in Class
Ottawa Valley All Setters Association - Gwynnie 2nd in Class; Whimsy 4th in Class
Ottawa Valley Pointer Dog Club - Gwynnie 1st in Class, Winners & Best of Winners for the maximum 5 points; Whimsy 3rd in Class
Many thanks to all who made this possible: Pam and Larry Legault of Palarset Kennels (our breeders); Noreena Seery (our handler) and her crew; the ISCC, OVASA, OVPDC and the SD&G Dog Association as well as the awesome judges and ring stewards.
We are so very proud of our girls!
