We believe that in order to give your puppy the best start possible , it is important to ensure the pup's parents have both been thoroughly health tested. We want our potential puppy owners to know that longevity and good health are important goals in our breeding program. Therefore we take our time researching potential mates for our dogs. Unless otherwise noted, our girls (and the potential sires where possible) have had the following health tests completed prior to breeding and results will be posted on the OFA website:

CLAD (Canine Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency)

DM (Degenerative Myelopathy)

GLD (Globoid cell leukodystrophy) Irish Setter type, also known as Krabbe disease

Hip Dysplasia

PRA-rcd1 and PRA-rcd4 (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)

Thyroid

We have also recently added testing for Von Willebrands

Remember, all of our dogs have been tested for all breed recommended health tests (and more) to obtain OFA CHIC certification prior to breeding and ALL test results are posted on the OFA website. More information can be found on the OFA website at: OFA CHIC Programs

New puppy owners will be given a copy of the official health test results in their puppy information packages.
